CIH, CSP and EHS support — remote, on-site, or on the seat
Vantage delivers industrial hygiene, safety and EHS expertise three ways: Vantage On-Call, remote judgment when you need it; Fractional CIH, CSP, Safety Manager & EHS Manager, the same judgment on a recurring on-site schedule; and Staff Augmentation, a qualified professional placed full-time on your site.
Three delivery modes, one standard of technical judgment
The judgment behind all three is the same. What changes is how it reaches the site — remote, scheduled on-site visits, or a person in the seat every day — and that is what sets the price.
| Vantage On-Call | Fractional CIH / CSP / Safety Mgr / EHS Mgr | Staff Augmentation | |
|---|---|---|---|
| What it is | Remote CIH, CSP or EHS professional support, delivered as a consulting product. | The same judgment, delivered on-site on a recurring, scheduled cadence. | A qualified professional placed on your site, full-time, one seat. |
| Delivery | Remote — phone, email, document and program review, virtual support. | On-site, scheduled hours per month. | On-site, full-time. |
| Commitment | Hours per month. No minimum term. | Hours per month. No minimum term. | One-month minimum. |
| Priced as | A consulting product — judgment, not hours. | A consulting product — judgment, not hours. | Staffing — the seat, plus continuity, backfill and CIH oversight. |
| Best when | You need expert direction without a body on-site — a plan reviewed, a decision backed, a gap covered between visits. | You need recurring on-site presence but not a full-time hire — scheduled audits, program oversight, field support on a cadence. | You need continuous on-site coverage — someone in the seat every day, for a sustained period. |
Published CIH and CSP tiers
On-Call and Fractional share one rate ladder — the difference is delivery mode and travel, not price. Staff Augmentation prices inside the staffing band, reflecting a filled seat rather than a delivered judgment. Other credentials and disciplines are quoted on request.
| Hours / month | CIH | CSP | Safety Manager | EHS Manager |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 10 | $190/hr | $175/hr | $160/hr | $185/hr |
| 40 | $180/hr | $165/hr | $150/hr | $175/hr |
| 80 | $170/hr | $155/hr | $140/hr | $165/hr |
| 80+ | Custom | Custom | Custom | Custom |
| Hours / month | CIH | CSP | Safety Manager | EHS Manager |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 80 | $160/hr | $145/hr | $130/hr | $155/hr |
| 120 | $155/hr | $140/hr | $125/hr | $150/hr |
| 160 | $150/hr | $135/hr | $120/hr | $145/hr |
Example pricing for direct commercial engagements. Federal and DOE subcontract work is priced per solicitation and applicable wage determinations. Safety Manager reflects site/project-level scope (DOE guide band $95–$140/hr); EHS Manager reflects programmatic scope (DOE guide band $115–$165/hr) — see the Fractional section below for what separates the two. Other credential levels and disciplines — industrial hygiene, environmental, project and work control, engineering — are quoted on request.
Vantage On-Call
Vantage On-Call is a remote service of CIH, CSP and EHS professional support — expert direction delivered without a body on-site, priced and delivered as a consulting product rather than a staffing placement.
- Program-level guidance — standing behind a decision, reviewing a plan, backing a technical call before it goes to the client or the site.
- Coverage between visits — the gap a Fractional or Staff Aug engagement doesn’t fill on its own.
- Document and program review — exposure assessments, written programs, monitoring plans, citation response.
- No minimum term. Hours are billed monthly, at the published tier for the volume used.
On-Call and Fractional share the identical rate ladder below. What changes is delivery mode and travel — On-Call never bills travel because there isn’t any.
Fractional CIH, CSP, Safety Manager & EHS Manager
The same judgment as Vantage On-Call, delivered on-site on a recurring, scheduled cadence — the right fit when a program needs a regular in-person presence but not a full-time hire.
Same person each month. A project consultant is bought by the deliverable and leaves when it ships; a Fractional seat is bought by the month and stays.
Who do you need?Certified Industrial Hygienist. Exposure assessment, sampling program design and defense, IH program ownership.
Certified Safety Professional. Safety program ownership, field oversight, OSHA and DOE compliance posture.
Site or project-level safety leadership — day-to-day field ownership of the safety program for one site or project.
Programmatic EHS leadership across multiple sites or a full project — the role a Safety Manager reports into as a program scales.
Site-level Safety Manager and programmatic EHS Manager are two rungs on the same ladder, not two unrelated roles — a program that starts with one site-level Safety Manager scales into an EHS Manager owning several. Worth a conversation on where a given project sits on that ladder before scoping either.
Travel and expenses bill at cost. No markup on airfare, lodging, mileage or per diem. Per diem follows the GSA rate for the locality. First-time badging and site-specific training bill at half rate, capped at 16 hours, once per client.
Staff Augmentation
A qualified professional placed on your site, full-time, managed day to day by your team — the seat, plus what keeps it filled.
- The seat. A professional screened against the technical scope of the role, the site’s access requirements, and the engagement model.
- Continuity and backfill when the assigned person is unavailable.
- CIH oversight standing behind the technical work, not just the labor hours.
- One-month minimum. This is what a full-time, on-site commitment requires to be staffed responsibly — it is not available at will-call.
Industrial hygiene — CIHs · senior industrial hygienists · early-career IHs · sampling technicians · beryllium and DOE-complex specialists
Safety and EHS — CSPs · EHS directors and managers · site safety managers · construction safety professionals · safety coordinators · emergency-response support
Environmental and remediation — environmental professionals · CHMMs · QEPs · environmental planners · waste and compliance specialists · field coordinators
Project and work control — work-control planners · project managers · program managers · PMP-qualified leaders · project controls · operations support
Engineering and technical — EHS, environmental, process safety, mechanical integrity, civil and structural, electrical, fire protection and nuclear engineers · PE-qualified where the scope requires
Candidates are screened by a practicing Certified Industrial Hygienist and Certified Safety Professional against the technical scope of the role, the site’s access and qualification requirements, and the engagement model. Placements are made company-to-company, 1099 or W-2, so a professional who operates their own business can take the work without changing how they are set up. Travel and expenses bill at cost, GSA per diem, no markup.
The scope, location, schedule, required credentials, site access or clearance requirements, and which of the three fits — or let the first conversation settle it. Where none of the three is the right fit, Vantage will say so.
