Comprehensive Exposure Assessments & Air Sampling

Every industrial-hygiene compliance decision rests on one thing: knowing what your workers are actually exposed to. A comprehensive exposure assessment is the baseline that tells you which hazards matter, who's at risk, and what the law requires of you.

Every industrial-hygiene compliance decision rests on one thing: knowing what your workers are actually exposed to. A comprehensive exposure assessment is the baseline that tells you which hazards matter, who's at risk, and what the law requires of you.

We evaluate your operation, define similar exposure groups, and perform the air and physical-agent sampling that quantifies exposure against OSHA and ACGIH limits — then make a defensible judgment for each group (acceptable, unacceptable, or uncertain) and translate it into a clear picture of your obligations and priorities.

What's included

🔍

Hazard characterization

A walkthrough to identify what needs evaluating.

🧪

Air & agent sampling

Personal monitoring across chemicals, dust, and physical agents.

📈

Exposure analysis

Results compared against OSHA PELs and ACGIH TLVs.

🗺️

Prioritized findings

A clear roadmap of what to address first.

When you need this

  • You've never done a formal IH exposure assessment
  • You've changed a process, added a line, or introduced new chemicals
  • You're not sure which OSHA health standards apply to you
  • Insurance, a customer, or a buyer is asking for exposure data
  • You want a defensible baseline before an anticipated inspection
Regulatory context: While OSHA doesn't have a single "industrial hygiene" standard, dozens of substance-specific standards (silica, lead, chromium, noise, beryllium, and more) require exposure assessment. ACGIH Threshold Limit Values (TLVs) are the widely recognized benchmark used alongside OSHA PELs.

Why Vantage

A well-designed exposure assessment is the foundation everything else builds on — do it right and every downstream compliance decision gets easier. Our approach groups exposures intelligently and samples strategically, so you get confident answers without wasting money on unnecessary sampling.

Questions, answered

A similar exposure group, or SEG, is a set of workers who share the same general exposure profile for the specific agent being evaluated — grouped by the similarity of their tasks, the materials and processes they work with, and how they actually perform the work. Defining SEGs correctly is what lets a limited amount of well-placed sampling represent a whole group's exposure, and be compared against the applicable limit with real statistical confidence rather than guesswork.

It depends on your operation's complexity and variability. The goal isn't maximum sampling — it's enough well-designed sampling to make confident decisions. We scope it to your situation.

A CIH report that states your measured exposures, how they compare to limits, which standards apply, and what to prioritize — in plain language you can act on.
